November 13, 2011 - Volunteers needed to move equipment

To every unit:

As we all know, Vinnie passed away a short while ago. He had been storing all of our equipment, which includes our things for Camporee, District Dinner, Cub Day Camp, Merit Badge Midways, and several other things we use for our activities. We have a deadline to remove it all from his old shop. We have found a new location in Van Nuys where we can store our stuff. We are on a very tight timetable and must pick up our gear on Sunday, November 13th, and bring it to the new storage the same day.

We need at least one adult volunteer from each unit to help. If you have older Scouts, they can help also. We are also in need of a large truck, flat bed is our first choice but a larger box truck will be OK. This is important and we need your participation. You may not realize it, but this is gear that each and every Unit is involved with, whether it be at Day Camp, Camporee, or other events during the year. Please don't ignore this and think someone else will handle it, send volunteers to help us with our equipment. RSVP back to me via e-mail to pauloliver@roadunner.com ASAP.

I would like to thank all those who helped us move all our equipment last Sunday. We had several good Scouters and Scouts step up and got the job done in a very short time. My great thanks to you all.

PS This storage is not something we can count on being permanent. If anyone knows of storage opportunities please let me know.
